Spectacular Faith Story (James 5)

Team Healing – healer, flame, bed, sick man – When someone is sick or suffering, we gather to pray for them. God moves in power when we pray with faith.

Forgiven & Free – two disciples, dove, crown – We pray knowing that God will help us. We confess and forgive. God blesses the requests of the righteous and faithful.

Elijah’s Faith – prophet, flame, cloud, rain, plant – Elijah prayed for no rain, and Israel endured a long famine. Elijah prayed for relief, and God sent rain and harvest.

Restoration Culture – cross, praying disciples, broken chains – Some follow Jesus and then turn away. Jesus restores. God invites all who wander away to return.

Storytellers Sight

  • Why should I pray with other people in hard times?

  • What changes about your life when you’re forgiven?

  • Why is it so hard to confess your sins around others?

  • Imagine you’re Elijah. What was it like to witness God changing the weather because of your prayers?

  • How does it feel to live with shame in your soul?

  • What’s so hard about trying to turn your life around?

  • Pause and pray now for someone who needs Jesus.

Storytellers Discipleship

The following activities will help you remember the story, apply wisdom to your own life, and tell the story to others.

  • Pray. Listen to the story. Draw the story.

  • Tell the story with the drawings.

  • Draw your own pictures to illustrate the story.

  • Pray and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal wisdom in the story.

  • Pray. What is the Holy Spirit asking you to do next?

  • Go and tell the story to someone. Discuss the story.

  • Disciple others to become Spirit-filled storytellers.
