Ascend Above Prayer (Colossians 3)

Heavenly Father, our hearts and thoughts ascend to your throne room today. We lift you up, we honor and glorify your name in all the earth. We join in with the four living creatures and the 24 elders who fall down before your holy throne day and night singing this song, “Lamb of Yahweh, you are worthy to take the scroll and open its seals, because you were slain, and with your blood you purchased for the Father souls from every tribe, language, people, and nation. You have built your people into a kingdom of priests to serve you forever, and they will reign with the Son upon the earth.” Hosanna, hallelujah!

Glory Sanctuary > O God, you are my God; early will I seek you. My soul thirsts for you, and my flesh longs for you in a dry and thirsty land where there is no water. So I have looked for you in the sanctuary, to see your power and glory. Because your loving kindness is better than life, my lips shall praise you. Thus, I will bless you while I live; I will lift up my hands in your name. My soul shall be satisfied. (Psalm 63:1-5 NKJV)

Father, how quickly my soul wanders away from your Glory Sanctuary. How prone to fall away from your love is my heart’s pathway. I return to the heart of worship today, and I vow that my life belongs to you. My heart is yours, Lord Jesus, my heart is yours. I need you, Holy Spirit, every hour I need you. Once again, I return to this river to swim. I’m sorry Lord for the times I have made following you more complicated than ascending a hill, or floating in a river, or resting in green pastures beneath a sheltering shade tree. Father, thank you for creating this space of prayer, this place of worship in my heart where your Spirit now dwells within me, speaking softly, guiding me to seek you with all that I am.

Heaven Sight > Since you became alive again when Christ arose from the dead, set your sights on the rich treasures and joys of heaven where Jesus sits beside God in the place of honor and power.Let heaven fill your thoughts; don’t spend your time worrying about things down here. You should have as little desire for this world as a dead person does. Your real life is in heaven with Christ and God. And when Christ who is our real life comes back again, you will shine with him and share in all his glory. (Colossians 3:1-4 TLB)

Father, thank you for these new eyes as gifts for my new life. For I have been crucified with Jesus, and the old wineskins are gone. But you, Holy Spirit, live in me. My heart was dead and wicked, and now, because of your love, my heart is new and righteous, a mystery I will never comprehend. My spirit was restless and rebellious, quick to share your glory with idols and false gods, wanting everything in life to always benefit me and make me happy. Then one day, you conquered my pride and defeated my lust. My Shepherd Redeemer, you guided me through this new, living way to refresh in your powerful wisdom, to rest in your compassionate care, to satisfy myself alone with you.

Interceding Saints > As for us, we have this large crowd of witnesses around us. So then, let us rid ourselves of everything that gets in the way, and of the sin which holds on to us so tightly, and let us run with determination the race that lies before us.Let us keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, on whom our faith depends from beginning to end. He did not give up because of the cross! On the contrary, because of the joy that was waiting for him, he thought nothing of the disgrace of dying on the cross, and he is now seated at the right side of God’s throne. (Hebrews 12:1-2 GNT)

Father, I see the saints and angels today. My forebears of long lost days have finished their race and won the prize and dwell in glory. I am surrounded by the prophets and kings of old, all the seraphim and cherubim who remained steadfast on the day the dragon deceived so many into hellfire. More remained faithful than those who left your presence, exchanging your majesty for counterfeit glory. My flesh has selfish desires, yet my eyes will remain fixed upon you Jesus. The world has thousands of idols seeking my attention, yet my heart will remain focused upon you Jesus. The dragon masquerades as a Bearer of Light to manipulate my affections, yet my soul will remain faithful to you alone Jesus. There’s nowhere else I would rather be than here with you Holy Spirit.

Mysterious Unity > “I pray not on behalf of these only, but also for those who believe in Me through their message, that they all may be one. Just as You, Father, are in Me and I am in You, so also may they be one in Us, so the world may believe that You sent Me. The glory that You have given to Me I have given to them, that they may be one just as We are one—I in them and You in Me—that they may be perfected in unity, so that the world may know that You sent Me and loved them as You loved Me. (John 17:20-23 TLV)

Father, I see my brothers and sisters scattered across the nations. One kingdom family under one Great Ascended Priest. I see all your disciples in every nation and place as one united body under one Divine Head. I see the enemy’s plan to slither in between brothers to divide us, to prowl unseen in between families and deceive us. I receive a renewed love for your people everywhere. As you are One, Father, Son, and Spirit, so may your people by your grace and power love one another. You are worthy and worthwhile for your people to cherish, embrace, and nurture unity.

We praise you that unity is not uniformity, that we are One Tribe in Christ brightly sparkling as a multicolored mosaic, an intricately-woven matrix of myriad personalities, gifts, passions, strengths, skills, and anointings. We are a slow-building orchestral anthem, a symphonic hallelujah ever increasing in depth and breadth until every voice joins in from the highest heaven to the deepest abyss celebrating the only name that is above & beyond every name. Jesus Messiah, Lamb of God, praiseworthy is your name!

Praying Priest > Jesus permanently holds his priestly office, since he lives forever and will never have a successor! So he is able to save fully from now throughout eternity all who come to God through him, because he lives to pray continually for them. He is the High Priest who perfectly fits our need—holy, without a trace of evil, without the ability to deceive, incapable of sin, and exalted beyond the heavens! (Hebrews 7:24-26 TPT)

Father, what would we do if Jesus was not praying for us all the time? And not only do you pray for us, Treasured Friend, but also you have made a way for us by your Spirit to always pray. Spirit of Jesus, help our hearts to heal as we remember your salvation, that Jesus is our Great Physician whose glory is a soothing salve to restore our souls. Spirit of Glory, help our minds ascend to heavenly realities, hearing the voices of seraphim praising the Lamb day & night, witnessing the elders and saints worshipping Jesus and interceding for the Church of our generation to make disciples in every tribe & language.

Spirit of Grace & Prayer, thank you for shepherding my life with the compassion of heaven, the mercy of your kingdom, and the freedom of your presence. Here I raise my Ebenezer, here I’ve come by thy daily help, and I hope by thy good pleasure safely to arrive at home. Savior, you sought me when I was a stranger wandering from the fold of God. You rescued me from danger, and purchased my soul with your precious blood.

Glory, glory, hallelujah! Hosanna in the highest! Blessed is Jesus who comes in the name of Yahweh. With all angels and archangels and all the company of heaven, we praise the Lamb of God, we praise the Lion of Judah who was slain for the sins of the world. And we sing together, “Holy, holy, holy is the LORD God Almighty who was, and who is, and who is to come” world and age without end. And we say, “Maranatha!” Jesus has come, Christ will return, come quickly, Shalom Messiah!

Amen. So be it. Grace & peace.

Quiet Voice Prayer – 1 Kings 19

Heavenly Father, we praise and worship your holy name. Your love transforms our souls, your power overcomes our evil desires, your wisdom directs our every step. We worship you in the Holy Spirit today, we dig our teeth into your Glorious Truth awaiting your every revelation, discerning your every word by the grace of Jesus our Magnificent Messiah who died to save us, who bled to baptize us in divine identity and forever life.

Fortress Sanctuary > God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble. So we will not fear when earthquakes come, when mountains crumble into the sea. Let the oceans roar and foam. Let the mountains tremble as the waters surge! [Interlude] A river brings joy to Yahweh’s city, the sacred home of the Most High. God dwells in that city; it cannot be destroyed. From the very break of day, God will protect it. The nations are in chaos, and their kingdoms crumble! God’s voice thunders, and the earth melts! The Lord of Heaven’s Armies is here among us; the God of Israel is our fortress. [Interlude] Come, see the glorious works of the Lord: See how he brings destruction upon the world. He causes wars to end throughout the earth. He breaks the bow and snaps the spear; he burns the shields with fire. “Be still, and know that I am God! I will be honored by every nation, worshiped throughout the nations.” The Lord of Heaven’s Armies is here among us; the God of Israel is our fortress. (Psalm 46 NLT)

Wash over us like tidal waves Holy Spirit. Whatever pulls us to the grave, whatever distracts us from the narrow pathway, whatever divides us from our brothers and sisters, we renounce those influences, we reject those voices, we listen only to your pure voice Good Shepherd. Take us wherever your river flows, heal the deserted places in our souls, and let your living waters wash over our filthy feet. All we desire is to become completely empty of our wayward flesh, the temptations of this poisoned world, and the deceptive lies of the dragon, so that we will feast upon your living bread, drink of your living waters, embrace with delight your life-changing truth, and walk in the freedom of your glory, the majesty of your splendor, the power of your resurrection, the love of your beautiful heart.

Identity Transformation > When John realized that a lot of Pharisees and Sadducees were showing up for a baptism experience because it was becoming the popular thing to do, he exploded: “Brood of snakes! What do you think you’re doing slithering down here to the river? Do you think a little water on your snakeskins is going to make any difference? It’s your life that must change, not your skin! And don’t think you can pull rank by claiming Abraham as father. Being a descendant of an ancient father is neither here nor there. Descendants of Abraham are a dime a dozen. What counts is your life. Is it green and blossoming? Because if it’s deadwood, it goes on the fire. I’m baptizing you here in the river, turning your old life in for a kingdom life. The real action comes next: The main character in this drama—compared to him I’m a mere stagehand—will ignite the kingdom life within you, a fire within you, the Holy Spirit within you, changing you from the inside out. He’s going to clean house—make a clean sweep of your lives. He’ll place everything true in its proper place before God; everything false he’ll put out with the trash to be burned.” Jesus then appeared, arriving at the Jordan River from Galilee. He wanted John to baptize him. John objected, “I’m the one who needs to be baptized, not you!” But Jesus insisted. “Do it. God’s work, putting things right all these centuries, is coming together right now in this baptism.” So John did it. The moment Jesus came up out of the baptism waters, the skies opened up and he saw God’s Spirit—it looked like a dove—descending and landing on him. And along with the Spirit, a voice: “This is my Son, chosen and marked by my love, delight of my life. Listen to him.” (Matthew 3:7-17 MSG)

Holy Spirit of the Living God, fall afresh upon us today. Our souls thirst for you. Yes! Our souls thirst for you. Even as the deer are thirsty, panting for streams of refreshing waters in hidden oases, we thirst for you. Our souls thirst & hunger cannot, will not, must not be quenched by any other source than your peaceful presence. Burst down the doors of my heart Holy Spirit, flood the halls of my thoughts Holy Spirit, fill the forgotten rooms within the walls of my heart until there is no place left in my heart, mind, soul, spirit, or body where you are not welcome, where I do not want your Truth to shine, your Word to blaze.

Quiet Voice > Later the Lord’s angel came to him again, touched him, and said, “Get up and eat! If you don’t, you will not be strong enough to make the long trip.” So Elijah got up. He ate and drank and felt strong. Then Elijah walked for 40 days and nights to Mount Horeb, the mountain of God.There Elijah went into a cave and spent the night. Then the Lord said to him, “Elijah, why are you here?” Elijah answered, “Lord God All-Powerful, I have always served you the best I can, but the Israelites have broken their agreement with you. They destroyed your altars and killed your prophets. I am the only prophet left alive, and now they are trying to kill me!” Then the Lord said to Elijah, “Go, stand in front of me on the mountain. I, the Lord, will pass by you.” Then a very strong wind blew. The wind caused the mountains to break apart. It broke large rocks in front of the Lord. But that wind was not the Lord. After that wind, there was an earthquake. But that earthquake was not the Lord. After the earthquake, there was a fire. But that fire was not the Lord. After the fire, there was a quiet, gentle voice. When Elijah heard the voice, he used his coat to cover his face and went to the entrance to the cave and stood there. Then a voice said to him, “Elijah, why are you here?” (1 Kings 19:7-13 ERV)

Father, we are swept away in the avalanche currents of your wonderful mercy, your wonderworking power. Living Water, you are welcome in my soul. Light of the World, you are welcome in my home. Resurrection Life, you are welcome in my desires. Good Teacher, you are welcome in my mind. Great Physician, you are welcome in my body.

This one treasure I seek, this one skill I desire to master: to rest in your presence listening to your voice. You are the wellspring that cannot run dry, only you can satisfy me completely, perfectly, wholly, fully. Thank you for all that you are, thank you for all that you do, and thank you for all that you plan for me and my family. I rest in you Heavenly Oasis, I trust your worthy hands Righteous Potter, I heal in your green pastures and beside your quiet waters Warrior Shepherd, I stand upon your firm foundation Overseer of My Soul.

Chief Cornerstone of my leadership, thank you for this new season of my life. Banner For All Peoples, thank you for rescuing the nations today. Consuming Fire, thank you for burning up within me whatever does not belong. Diadem of Beauty, thank you for capturing my heart with renewed wonder at your curious creation and divine culture. Firstborn from among the Dead, thank you for sealing my name in the Lamb’s Book of Life to be read before all mankind and supernatural beings on Judgment Day. Israel’s Consolation, thank you for keeping your covenant people within your ultimate plan to bring yourself the greatest glory through the last generation of this age. New Covenant Mediator, thank you for showing us your ways, deepening our love for you, exposing us to knowledge we aren’t aware exists, and guiding us to embrace the fullness of your gifts & fruit flowing from Zion through our lifetimes to bless & reconcile the nations. Spirit of Grace & Prayer, thank you for not giving up on me when I wander for a season, thank you for holding onto me when I epic fail, thank you for remembering me and staying faithful to me when I reject you and choose to follow the dragon’s temptations, and thank you for rescuing me time and time again when I fall into a dark pit with no way out unless you shine your light into death and open the forsaken prison doors with your freedom keys.

Glory, glory, hallelujah! Hosanna in the highest! Blessed is Jesus who comes in the name of the LORD. With all angels and archangels and all the company of heaven, we praise the Lamb of God, we praise the Lion of Judah who was slain for the sins of the world. And we sing together, “Holy, holy, holy is the LORD God Almighty who was, and who is, and who is to come.” And we proclaim together, “Maranatha! Jesus has come, Jesus will return, Come quickly, Messiah King Jesus!” Amen. So be it. Grace & peace. Maranatha!

Immanuel’s Salvation Prayer – Matthew 1

Heavenly Father, thank you for creating this place of prayer, this space of worship. At all times in your Holy Spirit, we may now pray because of Jesus. It’s not easy, there’s many distractions, and the dragon labors tirelessly to cause my soul to slowly drift away from time focused on your presence. Every hour, I need you Lord to keep me focused on you.

Thank you Immanuel, God With Us, for ransoming Israel, who was an enslaved captive. Mourning in lonely exile, Israel longed for the Son of God to appear. Immanuel, God With Us, you have come, you have appeared, you died to save us all, and you rose again, reborn in resurrection life, shining for every nation to see clearly and receive you by faith!

Father’s House > After being separated from him for three days, they finally found him in the temple, sitting among the Jewish teachers, listening to them and asking questions. All who heard Jesus speak were astounded at his intelligent understanding of all that was being discussed and at his wise answers to their questions. His parents were shocked to find him there, and Mary scolded him, saying, “Son, your father and I have searched for you everywhere! We have been worried sick over not finding you. Why would you do this to us?” Jesus said to them, “Why would you need to search for me? Didn’t you know that it was necessary for me to be here in my Father’s house, consumed with him?” Mary and Joseph didn’t fully understand what Jesus meant. Jesus went with them back home to Nazareth and was obedient to them. His mother treasured Jesus’ words deeply in her heart. As Jesus grew, so did his wisdom and maturity. The favor of men increased upon his life, for he was loved greatly by God. (Luke 2:46-52 TPT)

We want to be consumed by you Lord, caught up in your grace, gazing unceasingly at your face, which one day and then forever we will behold in all your glory and majesty. As Jesus was one with you, so now we are rejoined to you in Christ. Oh, how the world tempts us away from your love, corrupts the Truth, poisons the joy you freely give to all who remain in your love. Now, my Father’s house is the Holy Spirit in my heart, hallelujah!

Jesse’s Rod of Deliverance, you set us free from Satan’s tyranny, and out from the depths of Hell, you saved your people and gave us victory, triumphant over the grave. We rejoice, we rejoice, for Immanuel has come to Israel. We rejoice with gladness, praising your name with delight and adoration. We celebrate your advent, ascension, and promised return. As Jesus grew in wisdom and maturity, so will I. As Jesus received increasing favor as he aged, so will I. As Jesus was consumed by your presence Father, and overwhelmed by your love, so will I. As Jesus surrendered to your will Father, ready to go wherever you lead, fulfill whatever you request, speak whatever you say, so will I.

Immanuel’s Salvation > This is how the birth of Jesus the Messiah came about: His mother Mary was pledged to be married to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be pregnant through the Holy Spirit.Because Joseph her husband was faithful to the law, and yet did not want to expose her to public disgrace, he had in mind to divorce her quietly. But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.” All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet:“The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel” (which means “God with us”). (Matthew 1:18-23 NIV)

Jesus, you are the Savior of the World, the Son of God, the Living Word. You are my Bread of Life, the Awakening Power that rescued my soul, the Resurrection Life that guides my decisions, the Loyal Friend that stokes my hope into fresh fire when the embers almost burn out. Jesus, you are the Light of the Nations, the Only Hope of Every Generation, and the Wellspring of Abba’s Love. Thank you for leaving your glory in heaven to clothe yourself in flesh for us, to take on unimaginable pain so we can reign.

Day Spring and Dawn’s First Light, how your arrival gave our spirits cheer. You dispersed the gloomy clouds of night and put to flight death’s dark shadows. We rejoice, we rejoice, for Immanuel has come to Israel. We praise the Lord of Majesty for dwelling with us, filling us with the fruit and gifts of heaven, and teaching us how to return to our first love all the while surrounded by the lies of a thousand false gods. With fresh faith for a new day, we covenant again to praise your name, to seek your will, to rest in your healing embrace.

Shining Light > “Let us thank the Lord God of Israel. He has bought His people and made them free. He has raised up from the family of David One Who Saves people from the punishment of their sins. His anointed prophets told us this message long ago.God told us that we should be saved from those who hate us and from all those who work against us. He would show loving-kindness to our early fathers. He would remember His holy promise. God promised this salvation to our blessed father Abraham. He promised that we would be saved from those who hate us and that we would worship Him without being afraid. We can be holy and right with God all the days of our life. Because the heart of our God is full of loving-kindness for us, a light from heaven will shine on us. It will give light to those who live in darkness and are under the shadow of death. It will lead our feet in the way of peace.” (Luke 1:68-75, 78-79 NLV)

Father of Lights, you commissioned the Light of the World to push back darkness until only light remains. Your promises keep us steady through storms: that you are good, that your love never fails, that wherever the Holy Spirit is welcome, there is freedom, that everyone hidden in Christ is unbound by condemnation, that you will provide all we need, that Jesus will return soon, that our destiny is with you in Zion: our immortal home.

David’s Key, you have opened wide our heavenly home, you have closed the path leading to misery, made safe the way that leads to your majesty on high. We rejoice, we rejoice, for Immanuel has come to Israel. All the days of our lives, we will dwell in the presence of the Only One who is worthy to receive our love, worship, and allegiance.

Wonderful Counselor > A child has been born to us; God has given a son to us. He will be responsible for leading the people. His name will be Wonderful Counselor, Powerful God, Father Who Lives Forever, Prince of Peace. Power and peace will be in his kingdom and will continue to grow forever. He will rule as king on David’s throne and over David’s kingdom. He will make it strong by ruling with justice and goodness from now on and forever. The Lord All-Powerful will faithfully fulfill all these prophesies perfectly because of his steadfast love for his covenant people. (Isaiah 9:6-7 NCV)

Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord, oh my soul! The King has come, salvation is here, freedom is real, and death has no claim on me. What greater anchor of hope exists than to know my destination beyond the aftermath of my death, to know whom will welcome my soul into eternity after my body lies silent in the grave, to know now in my dust-in-the-wind life that I am created to live forever, unceasing waves of ages beyond my comprehension, a life so far into the future that I cannot quantify this everlasting destiny?

Lord of Might, in ancient times on Sinai’s height to Israel’s tribes, you gave the Law in cloud and majesty and awe. We rejoice, we rejoice, for Immanuel has come to rescue Israel. Minister of the Sanctuary and True Tabernacle of heaven here on earth, help us to practice your presence every day. Please do not let us miss the revolutionary paradigm shifts of your completed covenant that Jesus described. You changed everything, making a way where there was no way for us to be filled to overflowing with your Holy Spirit.

We rejoice, we rejoice, for Immanuel has come to live within me. We praise you, Father, and in Jesus’ name we pray, trust, and believe, Amen. Maranatha!
